Starting a Photography Business

A basic decision to make in starting a photography business is choosing a form of organization. You can start a simple sole proprietorship, or a more complicated form of incorporation.

Whether you've purchased an existing business or started one from scratch, you must decide which form of organization (sometimes referred to as "business entity") is best for your company. The decision can be difficult to make. There are several choices, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. Make sure that you consult with your attorney or accountant before making a final decision.

Photography Workshops and Photo Classes

Andrew Rodney is teaching a color management workshop at the Santa Fe Workshops this fall. It is one of their many fine photography workshops and photo classes.

Participants learn how to create, tune, evaluate, and use ICC profiles for monitors, film scanners, digital cameras, proofers, and printers, and how to produce the best RGB and CMYK conversions.
