Starting a Photography Business
A basic decision to make in starting a photography business is choosing a form of organization. You can start a simple sole proprietorship, or a more complicated form of incorporation.
Whether you've purchased an existing business or started one from scratch, you must decide which form of organization (sometimes referred to as "business entity") is best for your company. The decision can be difficult to make. There are several choices, and each has its advantages and disadvantages. Make sure that you consult with your attorney or accountant before making a final decision.

How do I start a photography business? I am very interested in starting a photography career. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin.

Hi Kyra -
The first place to start is right here on the web.
Two sites to check out are ASMP and
Sante Fe Workshops.
ASMP, the American Society of Media Photographers, is the premier organazation for professional photographers. They have a wealth of information on the business of photography.
Santa Fe Workshops offer some of the best workshops in a number of areas of photography. Just looking through their course schedule will give you an idea of the variety of areas you might persue in your career.
I also have a couple of other photo association links here.
Best of luck to you!
